Ingredients
- 3 Cup flour
- 1 pk yeast
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 oz margarine
- ¼ Cup milk
- Water
Directions
- Combine flour, baking powder, salt & sugar in a bowl
- Prepare yeast packet - 6 tbs (1/4 cup) lukewarm water with 1/2 tsp sugar in a glass bowl. Let sit until yeast rises
- Melt margarine in the microwave, let cool then add milk
- Make a hole in the flour - add margarine mixture then yeast
- Mix together then slowly add UP TO 1 cup lukewarm water. "Beat" the dough. If the dough is too sticky add a bit more flour
- Form into a ball, put in ziplock bag and refrigerate overnight
- In the morning remove from the refrigerator and let sit for about an hour.
- Form into balls and rub a bit of vegetable oil on each ball - microwave for 10 seconds if dough is still cold.
- Fry the balls in vegetable oil - oil must not be too hot or the outside will burn before the inside is cooked.
Bull Johl
Ingredients
- ½ lb boneless salted cod
- 2 cups cold water
- ½ cup chopped tomatoes
- 1 whole tomato sliced
- ¼ cup chopped onions
- ¼ cup chopped cilantro
- 1 boiled egg
- ¼ cup chopped cucumber
- 4 tbs Olive oil
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 – 2 tbs Bazodee® Soca Sauce or Hot Hot Soca Sauce
Optional
- 1 small avocado dices or sliced for garnish
Directions
- Rinse the cod fish in cold water
- Put fish in pan with water – remove from heat as soon as water comes to a full boil
- Strip fish into small pieces
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl and add additional olive oil or lemon juice as needed
- Garnish with boiled egg, sliced tomato and avocado (optional)
